Plaque-mounting
Excellent for prints and posters; awards, certificates and diplomas; price-lists, business documents and mission statements; promotional and advertising materials; point-of-sale displays; newspaper clippings and magazine articles; blueprints, maps and charts; postcards and photographs; children’s drawings, jigsaw puzzles and collages.
Plaque mounting is more affordable than framing, and the edge colour can be virtually anything under the sun. The edge colour can also be repainted should you change your decor at little expense - much less than choosing a new frame.
It also has certain advantages:
- Because there is no glass involved, it is safe for use in kids’ rooms and other high-activity areas like hallways, and busy institutional settings;
- It has an easy-to-clean surface;
- The matt finish ensures that there is no glare from surrounding light;
- It lies flat on the wall and with the installation of security hangars, cannot be moved.
Plaque mounting is a process where a paper-based product (poster, print, photograph, drawing, etc.) is laminated onto medium density fiber board or MDF (3/8" thick). The edges are then beveled and painted with a colour of your choosing. We use a matt finish laminate that provides UV protection to enhance the brilliance and life of your treasure.

Some items should not be plaque-mounted, like valuable or irreplaceable products and original artwork (e.g., oil or water colour paintings). Framing should be considered for these items.
Framing involves many variables, like choosing a style of frame for your artwork that works with the room in which it will be displayed, choice of matting (the cardboard around the artwork within the frame), and quality of glass. We are happy to assist you!

Finishing certificates, awards and diplomas is our specialty. We offer a variety of plaque-mount options that are reasonably priced. They provide a long-lasting finish that preserves the item from UV degradation. With an unlimited range of custom edge colours, sophisticated finishes like “linen-tek” and the option of adding coloured matting, your plaque-mount speaks to the professional you are. Traditional framing options are also available.

Lamination
Lamination is the process of applying a plastic film to the surface of an item. The plastic coating makes the item virtually tear-proof and waterproof since the laminating film bonds to both sides, encapsulating the item. There are many applications for laminating — virtually any paper you want to preserve, no matter the size: menus, price lists, promotional and advertising materials, maps, charts, point-of-sale displays, banners, etc.
